Backing up your blog
Because blogging is straightforward you have plenty of time to concentrate on the content that you are generating. This tends to mean that you generate plenty of content, so regular backups are important in case anything happens to your blog.
To backup your blog you need to expand the ‘Tools’ tab and select ‘Export’:
You will then get the choice of what author to backup, this is useful if you started a collaborative blog with other people and you wanted to transfer only your own posts to another blog. Most of the time, though, you will leave it set to the default of ‘All Authors’.
Simply click ‘Download Export File’ to create the backup:
Save this xml file somewhere safe. If you ever lose your blog for any reason you will need this file to restore your blog.
