Changing Your Username
The standard installation of WordPress gives you the default username of ‘Admin’. This name appears on your blog as the author of each post that you write (if your blog theme displays the author). It is also the username that you use to login to WordPress. For this reason, this username cannot be changed. However, you can change your nickname to anything you want and have this nickname used as the Author of each post.
To do this you need to open up the ‘Users’ tab and click on ‘Your Profile’:
Your profile page gives you lots of options that you can change, but the only change we want to make here is your ‘Nickname’. To do this simply change ‘Admin’ to whichever name you want:
Once you have changed your nickname you can then select it to be your display name – the name that is displayed as the author of your blog posts:
Once you are happy click ‘Update Profile’ at the bottom of the page.
